This is what the three-inch high Mint Automatic Floor Cleaner would like to address. Introduced during the recent CES, this robot adapts to different types of floors using a variety of sensors and advanced navigation technologies. Its Northstar navigation system assures the user that the Mint will never miss a spot or cover the same area again and again. Instead of having a vacuum or brush sweeper, the Mint uses cleaning cloths like Swiffer. Place dry cloths on it to pick up dust, dirt, and hair; while putting on a wet cloth would create a special mopping motion that allows the Mint to wipe deeper dirt.
It has a three-hour battery life during dry cleaning, or up to two hours while mopping. Don’t worry about the time though, as the manufacturer assures the user that the Mint can clean an area in a little less than an hour.
The Mint Automatic Floor Cleaner from Evolution Robotics is now available for pre-order at US$249 with an expected release on the third quarter of 2010.
