Online Help

  • Mint won’t start cleaning.

Confirm the unit is powered on (a blue light will appear under the power button, bottom center. If a red light appears, the cleaner requires charging before it can clean).

Make sure the removable cleaning pad is securely attached and that the cleaning cloth is tucked cleanly into the gripping strips.

If the power is on, press the sweep button (left) to clean with a dry cloth or the mop button (right) to clean with a wet cloth. Mint should start cleaning in 2-3 seconds.

  • Mint isn’t cleaning where I want it to.

When Mint starts cleaning, it moves forward and starts cleaning the area to its right. Try starting Mint to the left of the area you’d like to clean.

Confirm the NorthStar Navigation Cube is on. A blue light will appear in one corner if the power is on. If no light appears, replace the batteries with 2 new C batteries.

Check the position of the NorthStar Navigation Cube and make sure there is no interference.

Is there anything just above the NorthStar Navigation Cube, like a cabinet overhang?
Move the Cube to an open area.

Is the NorthStar Navigation Cube close to a wall with the blue light facing the wall?
Turn the Cube so the blue light faces into the room.

Is there a moving ceiling fan above the NorthStar Navigation Cube?
Turn off the fan (or move the Cube so it is not beneath the fan).

Is the ceiling in the room high or uneven?
Move the Cube to an area with a lower and even ceiling.

Try placing the NorthStar Navigation Cube in a new spot or facing it in a different direction.

  • Mint is cleaning only a small area.

Mint requires the NorthStar Navigation Cube to maximize its cleaning area. Make sure the Cube is in the area you want to clean.
  • Mint will not turn on.

Plug the included charger into the cleaner and charge the battery overnight or until the power button light turns blue while the charger is plugged in.

If the power does not turn on, make sure the rechargeable battery is securely connected:
    • Remove the battery door cover on the bottom of the cleaner with a screw driver.
    • Disconnect and re-connect the rechargeable battery pack via the small white plug.
    • Replace the battery door and tighten the screw.
    • Press the power button.

  • Cleaner is stopped and blue lights are flashing.

If Mint is left untouched for more than 5 minutes after it finishes a cleaning cycle, it goes into sleep mode and the blue indicator lights will appear in sequence. Press any button to wake it.
  • The Navigation System indicator on Mint does not show any lights.

Mint does not detect a NorthStar signal.

Make sure the NorthStar Navigation Cube is in the room and turned on (a blue light will show in one corner of the Cube).

  • The Navigation System indicator on Mint keeps blinking blue and doesn’t go solid.

Blinking blue lights indicate that Mint detects the signal from the NorthStar Navigation Cube, but hasn’t yet locked onto it. Once Mint locks on, the lights will turn solid blue.

If Mint has been powered on, but is not yet cleaning, press either the sweep or mop button to start the cleaning cycle. Mint should lock onto the NorthStar signal within a few minutes.

If Mint is still having trouble connecting, try the following steps to help Mint and the Cube find each other.

    • Turn off both Mint and the Cube.
    • Turn the Cube back on using the button on the corner. A blinking blue light should appear on the opposite corner.
    • Place the Cube on a table or counter with the blinking blue light pointed toward an open floor area where you can place Mint.
    • Put Mint on the ground in that open area about 6-7 feet from the Cube, with Mint facing toward the Cube.
    • Turn Mint on and press the sweep button (use a dry cloth).
    • Mint should move toward the Cube (and then away from it as it encounters a wall or obstacle) and its blue lights should go from blinking to solid relatively quickly.

  • All of the lights are flashing on the cleaner.

An incompatible charger has been connected to Mint. Remove the incompatible charger and connect the charger that was included with Mint.
  • Mint has a red light and beeps 3 times when I push sweep or mop and won’t clean.

If the red light turns off after the 3 beeps, but occurs again when you press the sweep or mop button, Mint is not ready to clean due to an activated sensor.
    Check to make sure:

    • Both ends of the cleaning cloth are securely tucked into the blue gripping strips and the cloth is not bunching up.
    • The cleaning cloth is not covering any part of the middle trough of the removable cleaning pad.
    • The removable, magnetic cleaning pad is firmly reattached to Mint

  • There is a solid red light on Mint’s middle Navigation Indicator and Mint will not respond.

Press Mint’s power button for 5-6 seconds to power it off. Then set Mint on the ground and press the power button again to turn Mint back on. If the red light is gone, press the Sweep button to confirm Mint can now drive forward. If the red light persists, contact customer support.
  • There is a blinking red light on Mint’s middle Navigation Indicator.

This indicates that Mint has encountered a problem in its environment and needs a little help. Problems could include getting physically stuck or unable to find its way out of a small area or being unable to find its way home to its starting position. Mint will also indicate this by periodically playing a two tone distress sound. The distress sounds will be frequent at first and then get progressively farther apart until the sound plays every 10 minutes or so.

Simply remove Mint from its situation and press the power button to turn it off. When you power back on, Mint should be ready to clean again.

  • There is a red light on Mint’s power button.

A solid red light on Mint’s power button indicates it needs to be charged. Power Mint off, plug the charger that was provided into the cleaner and charge the battery overnight or until a solid blue light appears on the power button. To confirm you have the right charger, look for model number NSA6EU-120025 on the charger label.

A flashing red light on the power button indicates that the battery is low, but Mint still has cleaning time left.

  • The NorthStar Navigation Cube won’t turn on.

The batteries may be dead. Replace with 2 new C batteries.
  • The Northstar Navigation Cube periodically shuts down.

There may be interference with the NorthStar signal from some televisions and fluorescent lights.

    • Make sure the NorthStar Navigation Cube is not placed within 5 feet of a Plasma or LCD television.

    • If the Cube is in a room with fluorescent light, move the Cube to an area without fluorescent light or turn the fluorescent light off.

If Mint has traveled out of range for a while, the NorthStar Navigation Cube may turn itself off, but when Mint returns it will send a message to the Cube to turn it back on.

  • Battery charging tips.

Mint comes with a rechargeable Nickel Metal Hydride battery. You can charge this battery even if you have not run it all the way down to a low battery signal (a solid red light on Mint’s power button).

When charging, Mint can either be removed from the charger once it is fully charged (indicated by a solid blue light on the power button) or it can be left on the charger.
