Outside of military applications, the past few years haven’t been easy ones for the robotics industry. Despite some fascinating advances in robotics research, it’s turned out to be more difficult than expected to make money on commercial and industrial applications. This is a problem that Evolution Robotics is keenly aware of. The company, which posted over $20 million in sales last year, manufactures the Mint automatic floor cleaner, which it sells in retail outlets such as Bed, Bath and Beyond and Target. They also provide hardware and software solutions for developers.
